Having Studied Theology of the Body, she began offering TOB programs in the Diocese of Lafayette in 2014 working in collaboration with Brenda DesOrmeaux. She firmly believes that people are hungry for the TRUTH after having been repeatedly disappointed by false “happiness” offered by our modern culture. The Theology of the Body provides the TRUTH about what it means to be a human “created in the image and likeness of God as male and female” (Gen 1:27).

Lagniappe from Wisdom
“Lagniappe from Wisdom” is a podcast designed to look at today’s headlines through the lens of history. In this episode the Founder and Director of Theology of the Body Community of Acadiana Adelle Guillot joins the Founder and President of the DesOrmeaux Foundation, Brenda DesOrmeaux, to take a look back at “Humanae Vitae” (Latin: of Human Life). Guillot and DesOrmeaux chose this document, written by Pope Paul IV 54 years ago, to show how history can provide answers for some of today’s challenges such as unplanned pregnancy and the increase in single parent homes. An Introduction to the Theology of the Body:
Based on Saint John Paul II’s revolutionary teaching and presented by world-renowned speaker and author Christopher West, The Giftis a comprehensive system designed to lay a firm foundation for those who desire to incorporate the Theology of the Body into their daily lives.
An Introduction to the Theology of the Body: Discovering the Master Plan for Your Life, is an eight-part, four-hour study designed to give you a solid understanding of God’s plan for humanity – a plan stamped right into our bodies.
Most people have heard the “whats” of Catholic teaching, but very few have ever heard the “whys.” With profound insight, Christopher West demonstrates that the Church’s teaching on sex and marriage “makes sense”, and, in fact, is the “logic” of Christianity, because it corresponds perfectly with the deepest stirrings and desires of the human heart. This study is for everyone searching for their ultimate purpose in life.
St. John Paul II’s New Vision for Human Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Life
Theology of the Body is the topic of series of 129 lectures given by Pope John Paul II during his Wednesday audiences in St. Peter’s square from 1979-1984. TOB is Pope John Paul II’s vision of the human person-body, soul, and spirit. His lectures are based on scripture especially the Gospels, St. Paul, and the Book of Genesis). John Paul II discusses who man was in the beginning, who he is now (after original sin), and who he will be in age to come. He then applies this message to the vocations of marriage, celibacy, in preparation for the Kingdom of Heaven.
Why are St. John Paul IIs teachings so important today?
The Problem: The sexual embrace is the foundation stone of human life. Sadly, men and women now tend to seek the “sensation of sexuality” apart from the true gift of them.
The Response: In a collection of 129 addresses delivered from 1979-1984, St. John Paul II resolved to clarity and deepens the true meaning of human sexuality.
The Questions: What does it mean to be human? How do I live my life in a way that will bring true happiness?
The Answers: We are created for Love not only as individuals, but also through a communion of “persons,” which is revealed by St. John Paul II as the “spousal meaning of the body.” Christ wants to infuse human, sexual love with divine, sacrificial love.
Made In His Image & Likeness: The marriage of man and woman is meant to point to the Divine Exchange of Love of the Blessed Trinity. As Christ’s gift of self is the origin of the Children of God, so too, the mutual gift of self of husband and wife is to be fruitful and result in the creation of new life.
The Big Picture: The body has a “language” that is meant to express God’s free, total, faithful, and fruitful love. God wants us to “marry” His people—to live with us in an unbreakable bond of love that the Bible compares to marriage. The Holy Eucharist is a renewal of the covenant: Christ’s own Body to His Bride, the church.
